Simple and uncluttered

The question

The old website no longer joined the company. A website with which we can serve more (potential) customers!

The challenge

The challenge was mainly to draw the target groups through personas, the entire process and the customer journey that accompanies them.

Standardisation? No way!

Websites of municipalities often characterize themselves by standardization. The website of the municipality of Leiden is a good example of how things can be different and the citizen takes care of his entire digital journey. Service design is more than a task-oriented website.

Gemeente Leiden wanted to create a new website in which the users and their wishes are central. A place where the services and customer journey are central. The demand for information from residents and entrepreneurs must be paramount. In addition, it had to be a action driven website where visitors can quickly find information they are looking for.

Search and you will find

Extreme search

We used SOLR-search. It has perfect integration with TYPO3 to give pages or search results more weight than others. It allows you to import the most important pages from Google Analytics and automatically enlarge them in the search results. And in a way that it is accessible and manageable from the back-end of TYPO3.

To help the people of Leiden, the search function is very important on the home page, start searching and you will find what you are looking for!

'My neighbourhood'

We started with a custom map integration. On this map, residents can specifically filter their zip code. Within your zip code you can see where which parking areas are and where you can find different waste containers. Useful!

Accessible and easy to access

After design bureau Just from Leiden had made the design the municipality of Leiden asked Redkiwi to realize this website according to the guidelines for accessibility of Web content (WCAG) standards. The municipality of Leiden has the obligation to comply with these web guidelines. They wanted to be accessible on both technique, design and content. The website is good and fast searchable where the user is central.

Safety and quality

We have built the website in TYPO3. One of the world's most widely used open source content management systems, especially known for its focus on safety and quality.
